Derry township local service tax form10/19/2023 ![]() ![]() The Dauphin County Tax Collection Committee (TCC) governs the Dauphin County Tax Collection District, the body established in Dauphin County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, under Act 32 for purposes of collecting and administering earned local income taxes. This means that the Commonwealth’s many political subdivisions now have county-wide EIT collections undertaken by a tax collector who is “appointed and overseen” by a tax collection committee comprised of delegates, themselves appointed by the governing bodies of each political subdivision within the tax collection district. After a two-year maturation process, the board of directors incorporated the Trojan Foundation in 2005 as a private 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.In 2008, the Pennsylvania General Assembly enacted – and the Governor signed into law – Act 32, thereby approving the consolidated collection of local earned income taxes (EIT) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. ![]() (Districts in the Commonwealth usually receive between 45-50% in state and federal funds.) The Derry Township School District began exploring the viability of an educational foundation in 2003 as a means of generating additional revenue. Typically the District receives less than 15% of its revenues from federal and state sources. ![]() Local taxpayers in Derry Township assume almost the entire financial burden of the school district. In the face of shrinking state and federal subsidies, it has become increasingly difficult for the District to offer the very best education to our children. ![]() The Trojan Foundation formed with the sole intent of raising supplemental revenue for the Derry Township School District in support of its innovative programs and services. To assist the district in this regard, the Foundation’s vision is to form a partnership on behalf of the students and community. As part of its strategic plan, the district has set a goal of being recognized as one of the top 5% of public school districts in the nation. ![]()
